Description of service
The dog walker took care of our dog when we were out of town on vacation for three days. She came to our house twice a day and took him for approximately thirty minute walks around the neighborhood including some off leash time so he could run around. She took him on walks by himself, not with other dogs. Also, while at our house, she left food for him and changed his water. For this, we paid $15 per day.
Review of Service
Overall, we were happy with our dog walker. Our dog seemed to be well taken care of. The dog walker did forget where our dog's food was and have to call us to ask, even though we told her where it was. But, that was the only hiccup. It was much cheaper than boarding our dog. And, he was able to live in our house rather than being cooped up in a small kennel.
Tips
Prices vary for dog walkers. So, call around. Also, ask for references and be sure to give a few of them a call. You should ask each dog walker whether they take dogs out on their own or with a group. While a group walk may be OK for some dogs, others may not get along with other dogs. You should also consider the time of the walk if it is a group walk. The dog walkers usually take some time to get each dog out of their respective homes and leave the other dogs waiting outside.
