Description of service
We required a safe place for our two dogs to stay while we took an extended weekend vacation. We wanted a kennel associated with a veterinarian so that, in the unlikely event one of our doggies got sick, someone would be right there to treat them. The service was for two meals a day, a large kennel in which both dogs stayed, and two walks per day, plus time in the runs.
Review of Service
We were very happy with the service provided. Our younger dog is very anxious and does not eat well when we are away - he actually gained a pound, and was very glad to see the kennel people when we brought them back to the vet for a booster the following week. Considering that he is usually much more likely to put his tail between his legs and hide the second time he re-enters a place where he was left, we felt this spoke volumes about the service. Better still, the people remembered our doggies (Samoyeds can be distinctive), smiled, petted them, called them by name, and talked to them for a few minutes. We have paid higher rates for much poorer service, and I very much liked the clean, new appearance of the kennels.
Tips
Check early for openings - don't delay until the last minute to find a good place for your dog to stay. Many kennels require up-to-date vaccinations; make sure your dog has all the vaccines he or she needs to stay. Make sure the kennel is aware of any medications, allergies, or food requirements your dog has.
