Description of service
Recently on vacation we decided to go on a boat tour that provided snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins. The boat tour lasted 3 and 1/2 hours and cost $35.00 per person. We were put on a catamaran with about 30 other people and taken to an area close to a nearby island where we were shown how to snorkel then allowed to snorkel and collect shells, and anything that was not still alive to take back with us. After our hour of snorkeling we were brought back on the boat, fed a snack and a drink, then we went to the Gulf Coast side of the island to see and swim with the dolphins. We got to see a few dolphins but never were able to get close to them or actually swim with them. The ocean was rough that day and it was impossible to see much at all at any distance.
Review of Service
The service on the whole was good for the price that it cost. The snorkeling part of the trip was a lot of fun for our whole family. We really wished that we had longer to do that part of the boat tour as it did not seem like we were there long at all. The area where the dolphins were at was very disappointing as we never were able to even get a good look at any of the wild dolphins much less get in the water with them. That was very disappointing however we felt that we still received a decent service for the price that we paid for the tour considering we were out on the boat over 3 hours.
Tips
Be sure and carry sun screen for a tour like this as the water does reflect the sun a lot and you can get burned without really realizing it. Drink plenty of fluids as you can get dehydrated quickly when out in the hot sun. Take extra money with you to purchase drinks while on the boat.
