Description of service
Last March, I went on a Boat Tour on the intercoastal waterway that runs throughout Delray Beach, FL. This was an hour long boat ride that cost $20 per adult and $10 for children under 12 years old. The tour included one complimentary non-alcoholic beverage.
Review of Service
I really think this was just a tourist trap. The boat was very small, and while the tour guide was very nice and knowledgable, the tour itself was not very interesting. There were only a few historic sites worth mentioning and very little nature to inspect. The boat was rather old and its engines were so noisy, there wasn't much in the way of relaxing. Not to mention the bathrooms were extremely small. The water itself was pretty and some of the very large expensive homes on the water were very impressive. I do feel that I could have seen much of this trip on foot and my day would have been better spent at the beach.
Tips
I would suggest finding a local in the area to direct you to the best tourist spots. Also, you can get reputatable information from travel agents and AAA. If possible, see if you can inspect the boat before you board and book the trip.
