Description of service
On a recent vacation, I took a boat tour of the San Francisco bay with my family. It lasted for about an hour and a half and took us under the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge, along the coastline to see the skyline of San Francisco, around Treasure Island and Alcatraz and then along AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Adults were $34 per ticket and children 5-17 were $22, although we purchased the family pack in which 2 adults and up to four children can take the tour for $88.
Review of Service
It was really outstanding. There was an onboard snack bar for the kids and there was plenty of viewing room on deck to see everything. There was a guide onboard who pointed out items of interest on the PA system and also gave some fascinating facts and trivia about the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, and other points of interest. My kids loved AT&T park and although there wasn't a game in progress at the time this beautiful baseball park was a real highlight.
Tips
It gets very cold on the Bay, even in the summer, so be sure to bring along some sweatshirts!
You can get to Fisherman's Wharf on the cable cars, so you can take in two classic San Francisco events in a single afternoon.
