the Cost of Shipping a Car

I moved from San Diego to Chicago and had my car shipped to Chicago. The total cost of the transaction was $550.

We were moving from San Diego to Chicago and decided to fall into Chicago rather than drive our car and put the wear and tear on it. The moving company we choose to move our belongings offered car delivery service as well but the cost was very high. We searched around and found a different company whose quote was much lower.

Well, I guess we got what we paid for! This service was terrible. First of all, the car was almost a week later than they said it would be. We ended up having to rent a car. Second of all, no one could tell us where our car was. They just kept saying 'it should be tomorrow' and we'd wait around and no car. Very, very frustrating.

When the car finally showed up it was in good shape and there were no problems there so I suppose it could have been a lot worse.

Be willing to spend more money for a better service. If your moving company offers this service you should probably pay the extra money and have them do it so that all of your stuff is with the same company.
