Description of service
I purchased a new car while visiting family in West Virginia; however, I had a car with me and no other driver. I had the dealership set up the shipping of my car from their lot to my home through an independent contractor. The price included picking up the car, loading it onto the trailer, and delivering the car to my home in Ohio, and all taxes/fees associated with the shipment.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with this whole transaction. It went very smoothly and I thought the cost was very reasonable for the job. The independent contractor was a little rough around the edges, but he was nice, honest, and got the job done in less than a week from my purchase date. I would recommend this service to anyone who buys a car out of state and needs to have it delivered due to the inability to do it themselves for sure.
Tips
I would definitely work with the dealership where you bought the car to schedule your shipment. That way, if you have any problems with the delivery, you have two points of contact to address the issues with: the dealer and the shipper. I would also try to talk the price of the shipment into the price of the car. I was able to have the dealer knock off the price of the shipment on the car total price, so it was like having the shipping done for free.
