Description of service
For our annual vacation last year I decided I was going to need a pet sitter while we were gone because we had animals and I didn't want to have to put them in the kennel. So we put an ad in the classifieds for a house sitter.
Review of Service
We were to be gone for five days so I wanted to make sure that they could be there at least twice a day to check on my pets and check the mail when it ran. We decided that 100 for the week would be sufficient, 20 dollars a day to feed the cats and to check the mail isn't that bad. You could probably get off a little cheaper if you asked a neighbor to help you out because they wouldn't have to drive very far.
Tips
I would suggest that if you do hire someone that you don't know that you do an interview with them. You don't want a complete stranged roaming in your house when you are miles away or taking care of your pet. Make sure that they are responsible and that they will be there EVERY day. Or ask a trusted relative or neighbor if they could take care of business for a few days so that you can rest easy while you are on your vacation.
