Description of service
I paid $20 a unit for a 3 unit Spanish class at our local community college. The class was a 2 month summer program for kids and teens. I paid a total of $60 for my younger sister's class that was held three times a week. The classes were 2 hours long and her spanish textbook and interactive CD-ROM was an additional $100. The curriculum included vocabulary tests, speeches and Spanish film screenings.
Review of Service
The class was in a large chunk and I think it would have been more beneficial if it were only an hour long and spread out during the week. The class only had 10 students so she did learn a lot of the language in a short amount of time. I think my sister learned the most from her Spanish software. It was worth paying for because now she has something that she can use to brush up on her language skills even though the course is over.
Tips
I suggest choosing a class that only has a few amount of students so you can be adequately reviewed on your dialect. Spanish lessons are a bit expensive, but affordable at local colleges and high schools. There was a great amount of material online to brush up on vocabulary and verb tenses, but being able to practice speaking to others in Spanish class helped her gain confidence.
