Description of service
I paid $100 for an after school Spanish program for my 7 year old daughter for one month. It was an hour a day 3 times a week.
Review of Service
My daughter's school was taking part in a pilot program to teach young children foreign languages. There have been studies down that have shown that a child's ability to learn a foreign language far exceeds an adults. She had her classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday for one hour. A high school Spanish teacher came to the school to teach the class. My daughter had a lot of fun and I was really impressed by how much and how quickly she learned. My only complaint was that the program only lasted a money. I'm not sure how much she'll retain on a long term basis. Especially considering we don't know anyone who speaks Spanish. We are looking into getting her into a language program elsewhere but they are all very expensive for a child her age.
Tips
Taking a short term foreign language class in a language you won't use often might not be worth the money as you'll likely forget a lot of what you learned. Try to get kids into language classes are young as possible.
