the Price of Child Psychologty

Counseling for my 14 year old teenage daughter costs 96 dollars a week for one 1/2 hour session. The counselor teaches my daughter how to better read non verbal cue from peers and discuss ways to express anger and other harmful emotions in a positive way.

So far the service has been good. My fourteen year old daughter seems to enjoy seeing the counselor. There is a lot of one on one time and my daughter does not feel pressured. They hold their sessions inside when weather is rotten and outside when weather is nice. They sometimes go to a coffee shop or the beach. She is gaining valuable coping skills and life management skills. $96 seemed very high to me until I started shopping around. I've seen an improvement in my daughters attitude in just over a month, 4 visits.

better ways to control anger and other harmful feelings.

Make sure the counselor is licensed, certified, etc and with a reputable company. Call around for references and success stories. Make sure you have at least one meeting together with your child to make sure the two click personality wise. Do your own evaluation of how your child or yourself is improving. 100 dollars is a lot of money to shell out each week for a service that isn't helping.
