My son went to a one on one therapist for grief counseling. The cost for each hour of therapy was $125.00.

I lost my father during the holidays last year. It was obviously very hard for all of us but my son had an especially hard time coming to terms with this loss. As I was grieving myself, I had a hard time helping my son understand what had happened. His school teacher recommended a child therapist might be able to do a better job helping him. We got a recommendation from his teacher and were very pleased with the therapist. She mostly played games with him and had him do art projects while she talked to him conversationally. This helped him to open up more and to not feel weird as though he were actually in therapy. The therapist was able to help him understand death and the grieving process as well as give us tips to help him ourselves at home. We noted a definite improvement in his attitude and spirit after a few months.

I think it's really important if your child is having trouble to get a professionals help as early as possible. it can prevent a lot of problems later in the child's life.
