Description of service
My child received counseling from a therapist with a masters degree. My son was very depressed. The total cost for one hour was $116. My health insurance paid 80% , which left me with a remainder of 23.20 to pay per session.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with the counseling my child received. The therapist was young enough that he could relate to her. Yet, she was old enough to be able to get him to listen to her and respect her . I believe talking with her helped my son a little. After a few sessions, he decided he no longer needed counseling. I believe a lot of his problem is the kids he comes into contact with at school. He is very sensitive and his feelings are easily hurt.
Tips
My best tip is to know your child. My son opens up a lot more with me than with his dad.
He is able to relate to a female therapist better than a male one. Also, my son is a teenager. So, I let him decide when he is ready to stop counseling sessions. You can't force your child to go to counseling. You will end up spending a lot of money and your child will not benefit from going if he or she is not willing to participate.
