Description of service

The service was the removal of two large oak trees from our yard prior to our home addition/re-modeling. The $900 figure represented the cutting down of the trees, but no actual removal of the wood. We were responsible for cutting up the wood, which we did and eventually used as fire wood. The service actually cut the trees down safely, and left them in the yard.

Review of Service

It was amazing watching how articulate and crafty the art of tree removal is. It might sound silly, but there is a lot of engineering and planning that goes into it. You can't just take out a chain saw and start cutting. Our service sent two guys out for the job. One would scale the tree on some sort of rock-climbing type belay pulley system, while the other did work from the ground. They were very careful and calculated with every move they made. At first I figured I could just cut down a tree, but then realized how wrong I was after watching them.

Tips

My advice would be, if you need a large tree(s) removed from your yard, hire a professional tree removal service to do it. It simply isn't worth the risk of a serious accident.
