Description of service
The power company in this area no longer removes tree limbs away from power lines, so I had to hire a tree service to do this. They did quite a bit of work for this price. They removed dead branches, large limbs and a small tree. In addition, they removed 2 rather large limbs from an older tree. These limbs were precariously low over the power lines. They used a 20 foot bucket truck to do this and removed all the debris.
Review of Service
The actual job was completed very well and accurately, however, I waited a week without contact from them after they came out the first time. The gentleman who priced the job had a great sense of humor. He also knew when the job needed another expert. Apparently some vines had gathered and intertwined around some live wires. He could not get them untangled, so he called in another expert. He did not charge more for this service.
Tips
Whatever you do, do not wait to have tree limbs taken down that are near power lines or in a position to cause damage to another persons property. You will be held liable for damages under the reason of neglecting basic maintenance. Do not rely on your power company to take limbs down from trees that are farther back from the street than 10 feet. Prevention in this case pays off. If you do not care for your property and damage results, not only may insurance NOT pay, but if it does, they may have grounds to drop your policy!
