Description of service

Large trees can become dangerous over time. Older trees tend not to have many limbs close to the ground. The canopy at the top of the tree can cause the tree to bend dramatically in storms. This can lead to the tree falling. If there is a possibility of the tree falling on your house you should consider having it removed. Even aging trees far away from your house should be cut down before they fall down. This will eliminate the risk of them falling on someone who is walking through the yard.

Review of Service

Several large oak trees did not seem to do so well over the winter. There were many dead limbs and not much foliage growing. I'm not a good height estimator but guess they were at least 50 feet tall. I called several services. One gave a price over the phone. The other two came out to look. The charge to cut 4 trees down was $600.00. They would cut them close to the ground but leave the stumps. The wood would be left in my yard. It would be cut into reasonable size logs but not split.

Tips

As with any contractor you are hiring, ask for proof of insurance. Ask if there is an additional charge to take the wood if you cannot use it.
