Description of service
My back yard has had one of the most beautiful trees that was probably over 100 years old, but it was struck by lightning during a storm and now it looks as if it's threatening to fall over. Since it's close to the house I just had it removed to protect the house and family. Of course this wasn't cheap. $1100 was what it cost to bring in a crane to trim some of the larger branches before it was cut down. The crane also was used to encourage to tree to fall on the ground and not the house. Then the tree was cut into transportable pieces and loaded onto a dump truck where they took it to a saw mill to be processed. Overall an expensive and difficult process.
Review of Service
It took about three days to complete this project because the tree was so big. Just to get the tree to the ground safely it took a full day. The next day consisted of trimming and sorting the pieces for transport. I thought they would finish on day two, but I was wrong. Day three they used heavy equipment to load the large dump truck and take everything away. Overall it took three men three days to complete. Afterwards I was left with a huge stump and a messing looking yard that would still need some work to repair. It had to be done to protect the house and family. Hopefully it won't need to be done again.
Tips
Ask around because your friends might know someone who had done tree removal before. I don't recommend removing the tree yourself. At least one this big. I have heard of people just paying to have it cut down then chopping it up themselves to save a little money. It's completely up to you.
