Description of service
We had a gum tree by our driveway that had been struck by lightning at some point. After every storm we'd find more and more large limbs/branches in our yard, driveway, even the road. The $300 estimate we received morphed into $350 when I explained that there were iris bulbs planted at the base of the tree that my 90 year old grandmother had given me that I did NOT want injured.
Review of Service
The service was adequate. The tree was taken down safely, the limbs and trunk were disposed of but there was still a lot of scattered pieces throughout the yard. The stump was left without any suggestions on how to speed up the rotting process or if there would be "sucker" from the root system.
Tips
Be sure that you specify your instructions EXPLICITLY the first time that you're given a quote. I will always wonder if the $50 extra because of the flowering bulbs was tacked on at the spur of the moment, in anger, rather than as a regular "add on" price. Make sure that the company is licensed and bonded in the event that someone or something is injured during the cutting process. Had a chunk from the tree fallen during the process on my neighbor's house, I would be SURE that the tree company took responsibility.
