Description of service
The cost of one tree removal from our yard. The stump was left in tact for use in landscaping in the future and the remainer of the tree, which was taller than our thre story home, was removed. They chipped the small branches and cut the larger pieces into 16" chuncks for future use as firewood. We were responsible for chopping those larger pieces down into fireplace-sized pieces.
Review of Service
We inherited this tree from the previous owners. It was half-dead when we moved in, but the remaining side appeared to be in good condition. We hoped that it would recover, but we were mistaken in thinking there was a chance. We had a terrible wind storm one night and woke the next morning to find that a very large branch had broken and was hanging dangerously close to our neighbor's porch. I called this service that morning and they agreed to come by within a couple of hours to take a look for me. They diagnosed the tree as nearly dead and encouraged me to cut it down fully rather than just remove the one branch. I was nervous about both the cost and loosing such an integral part of our back yard, but the men showed me areas on the trunk that proved that it was only a matter of time before it would fall onto our house. After I agreed to go ahead with it, they left to get their equipment and returned about an hour later with a small crew of 4. They worked together in a very efficient manner and the tree was completely down within an hour. After it was down, I was able to see the extensive internal damage that they had warned me about. I found them extrememly professional, quick, and accurate.
Tips
I am very wary of trusting people I have not worked with before, but in this case I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. I chose a local company where the owner lived very near in my small town area, which cut down on my distrust. I researched cost online beforehand to be prepared for whatever they quoted me and know if it was fair.
