Description of service

My dog has been getting into some nasty things outside while he plays and I think that it may be having an effect on his health. I figured I should try to clean his teeth myself, but that didn't work so I just made an appointment to have it done at the vets office. I showed up and left my dog for about an hour. I was told that they found a potential problem that was avoided by cleaning the teeth. I guess it was like going to a normal dentist, but for a dog.

Review of Service

The took an x-ray to find out if there were any problems first, then they cleaned my dogs teeth with a special toothbrush and toothpaste. I think it smelled like meat because that's what my dogs breath smelled like when I picked him up. Of course it could have been a dog treat also, but they also gave me a sample and told me what type of dog bones I should buy because they are essentially the only way a dog can naturally brush its teeth. Since this recommendation I don't think I'll have to go back because he seems much more active and healthy now.

Tips

This is a very specialized service that many dogs don't need, but make sure you think the issue is with your dogs teeth before you invest in sending your dog to the dentist.
