Description of service
Yorkies are known for having bad teeth. The cost my Yorkie's teeth cleaning was $112.00. This included anesthesia (putting dog to sleep for the cleaning). This is needed to prevent infection, prevent loss of teeth and to fix bad breath. This procedure is done once a year. The total time for the procedure is around 4 hours because they will need to monitor your dog until he wakes up from the anesthesia and is ready to go home.
Review of Service
It makes me a little nervous each time my dog has his teeth cleaned (once a year) because he has to be given a general anesthetic. I was pleased with the cleaning and the care he received. It is worth it to keep him healthy.
Tips
Always make sure you go to a trusted vet or research the vets credentials. Dogs ages 8 years and older should not have this procedure due to the general anesthetic. Make sure you provide your vet with a list of your pets health problems if any before the cleaning. Some dogs will not need the once a year cleaning and the vet may give you a doggie tooth brush instead. Remember your pet requires maintenance and the teeth are important.
