Description of service
I took my dog to a vet that I had just started to use since I just moved to this area. I got a recommendation from a friend so I went there. We went for an annual check-up and booster shots. They suggested blood work so I agreed. I then made an appointment to have her teeth cleaned in two weeks. We went back and they did more blood work. They said it was needed to make sure she was healthy. I explained that we had been in two weeks before and she had blood work done then. They said they needed to do more blood work. I agreed. Before we left her, apparently, my husband had signed a paper saying he ok'd everything. When we went to pick her up and pay the bill, we were shocked. I had never paid that much for a cleaning before.
Review of Service
The service was not what it should have been. They gave her antibiotic pills that cost $5 a pill! When we talked to them about the bill, they were indifferent. They said that is what it costs. We went back the next day to talk to the owner/manager. She was not very nice. Their words were "That is what the cost is and you signed it." We were up a creek.
Tips
Don't ever agree to anything before you read over the costs and proceedures. Not all vets are equal. I have had my dog's teeth cleaned for under $300.00. I didn't expect this at all. There are many good vets around. Search out the good ones and don't be afraid to ask questions. That is the only way that you learn. Don't assume what you think the cost will be. Get something in writing!
