Description of service
This service included the rental of an extended length half ton cargo van to be used for an interstate move, along with the additional fee for being a one-way trip. Most of the cost, over $400, was to cover the fee to drop off the rental in another state. If I had moved within the state, and dropped-off the van at a different city but in the same state, that fee would not have applied.
Review of service
I did not require a large box truck, so I decided to rent an extended length cargo van instead. I also prefered the van because it would be easier to drive and park. Since I was travelling to another state, the gas cost was another issue, and I knew the van would take much less gas than the large box truck. The smaller van was harder to load than a large truck would have been. I had to fit things together carefully and plan how I was going to load certain things. An advantage over a truck was t hat the driver area is open to the cargo area, so I could have my pet cages right behind me and keep an eye on my pets. I certainly did not want to put them in the back of box truck and worry about them the whole trip.
Tips
Do not rent more truck than you need. I decided it was cheaper to donate my large furniture and items to charity and replace them after the move than it would be to pay for a larger truck and take them with me.
