Description of service
I have a 22 foot rental truck reserved to travel 1,500 miles one way. The price covers the rental of the vehicle, but the renter is responsible for loading and unloading the truck and filling the tank with gas. I have moved the date about 4 times - the first time, I reserved the truck in March 2007 for a move in August 2007. When I originally reserved the truck, it was going to cost about $2,200 for the exact same move. Our moving dates have changed, and I have called to change the reservation date each time. The price went down from $2,200 to $600 on one occasion that I made the change, and I was able to be locked in at the lower rate.
Review of service
This company offers the rental of newer vehicles, which I like because it eases my mind about driving through desolate areas and being worried about breaking down in the middle of nowhere. The customer service agents were very pleasant and easy to deal with each time that I have called them.
Tips
I would advise you to call as far ahead in advance of when you know that you will need the truck. Rental rates will fluctuate over the course of the year (they will be higher the closer to summer you make the reservation). Ask about the ramifications of needing to change the reservation. This company allowed changes with no penalty. Ask if you will have to pay a higher rate if you change your reservation and the prices have risen. This company locks you in at your original reservation amount - if the prices go up, you do not have to pay the increased price. However, if the prices go down, you can change your reservation to be locked in at that lower amount.
