Description of service
The dentist found a cavity while doing my regular cleaning. With no dental coverage the cost of the filling was $144. The filling was a white compound mixture so that it would not be noticable. The dentist first numbed the area and then cleaned out the cavity with the tools and dental drill. Afterward he filled the cavity with the mixture and allowed it to set then rechecked the area.
Review of Service
I was satisfied with the service. It was only a small cavity but I was having sensitivity because of it. Since the filling there is no more pain. The numbing agent worked well and the procedure was painless. He explained what he was going to do before he started and even worked out a payment plan since have no dental coverage.
Tips
Make sure that you know whether or not you have dental coverage. If not then ask about payment plans and how much will be due at the time of service. If you cannot afford to pay the dentist may be able to recommend a dental school where the work can be done cheaper. Also, if you have dental coverage ask what you might owe beyond the copay, sometimes the insurance will only cover partial.
