Description of service
I had five dental implants placed by an oral surgeon, the price totaling $5800. This included general anesthesia, where I was put to sleep, as well as a consultation and x-rays prior to the surgery. The cost also includes a second, minor surgery where the posts are uncovered and healing caps placed. The price does not, however, include the final crowns that will be placed on the post. This is a separate fee to a prosthodontist. The surgery was done by an oral surgeon who specializes in dental implants.
Review of Service
The service was very good at the oral surgeon's office. I had to wait about an hour longer than planned before my surgery, but only because another patient was having complications and they did not rush his surgery. The staff and surgeon were very friendly and helpful in calming me down. The recovery was smooth and so far I have had no problems with the implants. The surgery was also very quick for so many implants, lasting about 1.5 hours.
Tips
I would definitely recommend the general anesthesia. Also, make sure you ask people for recommendations when looking for a good oral surgeon. Make sure they have a history of many successful dental implant surgeries.
