Description of service
We had our basement floors done in hardwood by a licensed contractor that specialized in this area. The area covered was a little over one thousand square feet. The hardwood used was a cherry wood covering. It took about two days for them to level the concrete and lay the hardwood using glue and nails to attach it. They also installed the baseboards and guaranteed the work for at least 10 years. The guarantee was good for anyone who we sell the home to during the 10 year period.
Review of Service
I was satisfied with the outcome however in places the floor was not completely level. The floors look great and give the basement the look of a finished room like a den. The only problem is they have began to buckle in some places but the contractor honored the warranty and replaced the problem planks. The lenght of time it took to complete was reasonable and the floors are easy to maintain. While they do require waxing it is not often.
Tips
Make sure you find a licensed contractor who specializes in this area. If they do not offer some sort of guarantee I would be skeptical. Also, make sure in choosing the color of the hardwood to use that finding furniture that matches or completments it will not be difficult.
