the Cost of Gas and Electricity

Gas and electricity are something we all have to pay for every month, but there are usually no competing companies in the area to keep the price down, So, its usually expensive.We all usually have one gas company or one electric company, so we don't have any options on who to go with. There are no options where I live in Michigan, so we pay whatever our local companies charge, and theres not much you can do about that. I usually pay about $150 in the winter months for gas, because my home is heated by a gas furnace. I pay a lot less in the summer of course, but then my electric bill goes up, because of the air conditioning. I usually pay around $100 per month for my electric during the summer months.

You need these services, and there is not much choice rather to use them or not. The service that I get my my local gas and electric company is good, I have no complaints, but it is rather costly.

There are a lot of things you can do to keep your bills down. You can dress warmer in the winter and keep your thermostat down, that helps a a lot. Also to keep your electric bill down, unplug all your appliances that you are not using. They use up energy even when they are not being used, just being plugged in uses energy!
