Description of service
When my aunt threw a suprise birthday party for my gradfather's 85th birthday, she wanted to make sure her house was spotless. An individual who advertises in a local paper was called out to ensure that her home could pass the white glove test. For $75 my aunt got her 1500 sq. ft. house dusted, vacuumed, carpet shampooed, kitchen and bathroom floors swept, as well as the bathroom spotlessly cleaned.
Review of Service
While I personally would've wanted someone to go over my kitchen to make sure it was spotless, I was impressed by the woman that cleaned my aunt's home. My aunt's home is by no means dirty or messy, though, so I think the job could've been done for less money.
Tips
Check references! While most housecleaners are honest, you don't want to find out differently right before a big event. If you are truly impressed with the work done, see if the housecleaner would offer you a deal to sign up for scheduled maintenance visits. When you get an estimate, understand that a housecleaner must see your home before they can make an accurate quote. Get not just a monetary quote, but one based on time as well. This will enable you to compare basic hourly rates, if all other variables are the same.
