the Cost of One Time Housekeeping Service

I recently hired a housekeeper to clean my house. While I know some one time housekeeping services charge by the room, I found one who charged by the hour, which I thought would be cheaper for me. I live in a two story house with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The housekeeper charged me $20 an hour for her services. She finished the whole house in three hours. Since it was quicker than I anticipated, I tipped her an extra ten dollars.

I was very pleased with the housekeeper I hired. She did a fantastic job. She was very efficient but also very thorough. She also brought all her own cleaning supplies, so I did not have to stock up before she came. She cleaned the house top to bottom, even dusting things that I did not expect her to clean.

I heard about this woman from a friend of mine who uses her regularly. If any of your friends have a housekeeper, I suggest you ask if that housekeeper does one time cleans. This way, you can hire someone whose work you can find out about in advance. I happened to be home when this woman cleaned my house, but if you don't have this option, it is even more important to go with someone you can find out more about ahead of time.
