We bought a house that needed a major cleaning job before we could move into it. The cost was $180.00 for cleaning an empty house. They cleaned the cabinets, appliances, bathrooms, dusted the blinds, cleaned all of the floors, and anything else that needed to be done to get the house ready to move into. They brought their own cleaning supplies.

We had been through the house several times before we purchased it and We never realized that it would be so dirty. I was overwhelmed by the amount of cleaning the house would need before we could start moving. Rather than trying to tackle that job, I hired a maid service. They had three employees working for six hours. I have three small children, which I couldn't bring into that amount of dust. It would have taken me a week to finish, so it was definitley worth $180.00. I was able to spend my time packing. There were a few things that I had to clean again, but overall they did a great job.

If you need a maid service, get estimates from different companies to insure the best rates. Also ask for references. Consider whether they supply their own cleaning supplies or not, as this will be an extra expense if not.
