For example, they might tear out the contents of a McDonald's so someone else can use the space to build a convenience store.

I couldn't be happier with the service. The company sent two cleaners to the apartment, they arrived at the scheduled time with their own tools and cleaning stuff and got to work. It took the pair of them about an hour to scrub the place from top to bottom so thoroughly that I wouldn't have guessed the place had ever been lived in.

Shop around, ask about price but also hiring policies. In the Phoenix area a lot of this work is done by immigrants. Some of the immigrants are here illegally, which can complicate your life because hiring illegal immigrants is, apparently, in itself illegal, and if you hire a company who hires illegals you could be liable for the company's actions at least insofar as you did business with them.
