The service included the company's low speed 6Mbps/512Kbps down/up internet service and basic cable with 23 stations including premium stations like the Discovery Channel and Lifetime.
Review of Service
The service was generally excellent. Extremely fast service with very few outages -- maybe 2 in two years -- with only one requiring the dispatch of a service tech. The service tech was assigned a 2 hour block the day after my call, and arrived a few minutes early. Everyone I talked to at the local customer service office was exceptionally polite and efficient, and all their phone techs were of the same demeanor and spoke perfect English. When I moved outside the service area, I had no difficulty whatsoever in canceling my account, and my deposits were promptly refunded.
Tips
For most people the slower service will be much more than they really need for web browsing, online shopping, or even telecommuting, but people who download lots of large files will want the relatively inexpensive upgrade to the crazy-fast service for $15/month more. There are package deals with other service, such as telephone or expanded cable or digital cable, offering discounts that more than make up for the cost of the higher-speed service.
