Description of service
The microdermabrasion service which I paid for included the consultation charges and the charges for three separate sittings for carrying out the procedure. The main procedure was for only one sitting and the rest two sittings were more of auxillary to make sure the procedure had covered 100% area of my face. This microdermabrasion was done particularly using silica and aluminium crystals which were kind of blasted on my skin.
Review of Service
The service that I went through was bit of a mixed experience. I had high hopes from the procedure and well the outcome was a bit disappointing. I have had scars from acne since many years most of which have faded but the small pitholes and other scars were existent and so had underwent this procedure. The doctor and staff concerned were very good, however somehow the procedure cannot be termed a success. After the main sitting, I had such a bad case of reddened skin that I had to stay at home for almost a week before I could show my face. I know sun exposure is to be avoided but this happened without any exposure at all. At the end of 3 sittings I still do not feel that the procedure was worth my money.
Tips
First of all make sure the consultant you are visiting is a registered and well known practitioner. Secondly check out the type of procedure. I came to know that these days diamond microdermabrasion and using many other kind of particles is also done and may be more effective than aluminium crystal based. Secondly please confirm with your consultant what he/she thinks would be the outcome depending on your skin type and extent of scarring. I hope it gives a better result than it did for me.
