Description of service
Microdermabrasion is a very deep but gently treatment to the skin to help extract all impurities in the skin and make it feel softer and look younger. I've had this service done twice and have enjoyed it both times but have had different outcome from it. The entire process took about 50 minutes in total. There weren't any parts of it that hurt terrible. I have really tough skin so if you're skin is sensitive, there may be a few part that are a little bit painful from the extractions. Also, if you have really bad skin then the treatment will be more intense for you but the machine that is used doesn't really hurt at all. What I loved is that the machine is capable of getting very deep and being very effective but it doesn't hurt and I didn't have to do any expensive peels or go through any intense skin products to get the same results.
The price I paid was $50 for the service but that was because I found a girl who owns her own salon and work out of her home. However, this service at a spa/salon would normally cost between $60-$90. I would recommend finding a small local business who provides this service because the bigger and fancier the salon name, the more you're going to have to pay.
Review of Service
I really enjoyed getting microdermabrasion done. I know that the products that were used were really good products. I even bought some to take home. The first treatment my skin looked flawless and very hydrated. However, the second visit I made my skin reacted to the treatment. The same products were used but for no know reason, my skin around my mouth dried out a lot. But the service was very worth the price I paid for it.
Tips
Before you get microdermabrasion, make sure your esthetician know exactly what skin type you have and that she uses products that would work with your skin. If you have sensitive skin, you don't want to have her use harsh, drying, active-ingredient products. Also, ask her how often she cleans her machine. It's so important that they use clean equipment. I know this is probably very embarrassing to ask but you don't want dirty machines touching your face. There are many contagious skin fungi that you can catch. It's important to keep in mind that you may need more than one treatment to get the outcome you want so be patient. If you're lucky, you only need to do it once but often you need to get it done many times to get the exact result you're seeking.
