Description of service
I had a one-hour microdermabrasion done at a salon. The microdermabrasion removed dead skin from my face and chin. A specialist takes a wand that buffs out your skin. She runs this all over your face until all the dead skin is buffed away and you're looking shiny and new.
Review of Service
The salon I went to provided hair cuts, pedicures, manicures, facials, and waxing. The microdermabrasion took place in a warm, quiet room. I was given a nice bathrobe to wear and I was able to lie down and relax during the process. The microdermabrasion hurt like crazy, but I must say afterwards my skin had an amazing glow. Well worth the $70 for the one hour session!
Tips
Wear sunscreen after getting microdermabrasion and stay out of the sun. Wear lots of moisturizer, too! You will peel like crazy for two to three days afterwards. Wear a hat or carry an umbrella around like you -- you can pretend to be a geisha girl. Also, be sure to shop around with prices for the same service at different salons. Many of them offer microdermabrasion, but some charge up to $300 per hour. Ask friends and family for recommendations. It helps to go to smaller salons, as they charge less for the same service. I shopped around at several salons based on personal recommendations before I found the one I went to.
