Description of service
I paid $125 for microdermabrasion, along with $20 tip. I have this service done once every six months. On the occasions that I attach it to another facial service, the cost of the microderm goes down to $95 (the average I pay for an additional facial service on top of this is about $119 plus a tip of $25 - $35).
Review of Service
As with anything regarding my skin, I am very skeptical of new offerings and new staff members. I stick with the owner of the spa, and usually get the microderm alone or with a pore cleansing facial. This trip, I had microderm alone (my usual winter plan), rendered by the owner and her over thirty years of spa experience. The service itself was great. Despite the unpleasantness of the actual microderm process, I was treated well, and was relaxed throughout. The location was clean, and the staff was mostly wonderful. I like that I can call in with questions and speak directly to the person who did my work, usually the same day I call.
Tips
Research: Very important. You want a location with proper certifications and a high level of cleanliness. Don't be afraid to ask your esthetician about his / her experience and qualifications. You live with results.
Relax: If you are scared or uptight about the microderm process, it may be worse than if you relax and try to be open to the experience. I find the small amount of unpleasantness well worth the beautiful results.
