Description of service
The price is the monthly charge for 20mbps residential fiber-optic internet service. Other charges include $300 for installation.
The company is a local telephone provider who also does digital cable and a variety of high-speed internet services for domestic or business use. Prices vary depending on how much traffic (business or residential), the required speeds, and the difficulty of installations.
Review of Service
It's a brand spanking new service, which makes me an early-adopter and someone who gets to experience all the teething problems of a new technical roll out. That said, the speeds are amazing. When it works. Which is usually. A fair bit of the time, though (say 10%) it doesn't work so well. Partly because of technical problems on their end getting everything sorted, but a big part of it is the fact they have to shut down parts of their network as they install more cabling to service other areas. All in all I'm glad I have my high speed cellular data widget for my notebook, but I'll be even more glad when I don't need to get my data through it at home any more.
Tips
It's only about $30 more than internet service that's less than half the speed from another company, but for the moment it makes up for the price difference by the wonky connection stability. Wait 6 months before jumping on the fiber bandwagon in Phoenix. That way it'll be more well sorted and you'll get more of your money's worth.
