For an additional charge of $10/mo for a total fee of $39.95/mo you can add a variety of group aerobic classes to your memebership. And an additional $5 for tanning but this is per tanning session not for the entire month.
There is also the option, again for an additional fee, to hire a personal trainer through the gym. This price varies from $100/session (which is usually about an hour) to around $40/session depending on what you pay upfront and for the total number of sessions you buy. We you first join the gym, they do include a one-on-one assesment with a trainer at no additional charge.
Review of Service
This particular gym is very nice for those of us actually need the gym and don't already have that perfect bikini bod. It is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hours of operation are 5am to 9pm, which are good but I think an additional hour on each end would be benefical especially for us working moms who need either early mornings or late nights to actually get there without rushing around.
As far as pricing, when I first joined I signed a contract and received a binder with all the gym information. One thing I noticed was this little guarantee at the bottom of the first page, which promised me that no one else was going to get a better deal than me....and then wouldn't you know it about 2 months later we get a payroll stuffer included with the checks at work and who's running a special dealer for our employees?? You guessed the gym that just promised me that no one would get a better deal than the one I signed a year contract for!
Tips
If you are currently working, check with you boss or human resources department to see your company receives any special pricing for the local gym before you sign up with anyone. Also, make sure that you know what exactly you want your workout schedule to be and confirm that the gym hours of operations can accomadate them.
Also, it is a good idea to actually visit the gym, have someone give you a tour of everything and just check the place out to make sure that it is the right environment for you. It is hard enough for a lot of us to get the motovation to go in the first place, the last thing you need is an environment that makes you uneasy.
