Description of service
The monthly charge for my gym includes unlimited visits at any time of day to any of their several locations around the metro Boston area. It also includes classes that you may want to take. However, you often need to register for classes in advance. It does not include tanning or personal training; these services are extra. It should also be noted that I have had this rate for the past five or six years. I am sure that it costs more now. So, I am luck to be grandfathered into this rate, which is a very good one for the city.
Review of Service
The gym location I go to is small, yet adequate for my needs. I use the free weights, nautilus machines, and cardio machines. The gym can be busy at certain times like after work. However, during the day, this location is quite empty and it is nice to work out there without being crowded. The staff is friendly and everything is always clean. The price at this gym is less than the big nationwide chains that have more bells and whistles.
Tips
When signing up for a new membership, always look for special packages. Also, negotiate. Gyms often charge a signup fee or some initial membership charge. However, this is always negotiable if not completely avoidable. They are more interested in getting you to commit to a membership than smacking you with a one time charge. Also, consider getting a membership through your business. Gyms often give a substantial discount for corporate or group memberships.
