the Cost of Speech Therapy

This service cost $85 for one hour of speech therapy. This includes the price for a speech therapist to come to my home and work with my son on his speech. They do a wide variety of activities that help my child improve his speech. The cost of this service is usually covered at least partly by insurance, and possibly even fully covered.

I was very happy with the service and my son has shown great improvement in his speech. The speech therapist would basicaly just come to my house, sit down on the floor with my son and dump out a bunch of toys. Then she would just play with him and talk with him trying to get him to learn how to pronounce his words. It sounds pretty simple, but it works very well.

If you have a son or daughter who may need speech therapy, always begin talking with your child's pediatrician first. Speech delay can be caused by a variety of things, and they should be evaluated by their doctor first. If a delay in speech is caught early, usually children can catch up quickly, the later your child gets into therapy, the harder it will be to get them to catch up.
