the Price of Plumbers

My wife had dumped mashed potatos in the kitchen sink and had caused it to get stopped up. I attempted to use my plunger and that did no good. I then went to my local home improvement store to get a short auger. Came home and drilled the heck out of the lines up to three feet anyway. No luck. Went back to the store and purchased a 25 foot auger. Came back home and went to work. I made it six feet and couldnt go any further. I pushed and twisted as hard as I could and still couldnt get pass the clog.Now what, I asked. I finally broke and called a plumber.

He was out in less than an hour and brought in this bulky electric engin with a 100 foot auger on the end. He "snaked" the line and cleared my lines all the way to the street! He also threw in a gallon of some chemical to keep the lines clean. He gave me his business card and said for me to call him personally so he doesnt have to charge me so much. Heck, todays service was 125.00 which was good, but I also spent money on the tools. He said that he would have done this for only 50 bucks! Man, I felt dumb.

Get to know your contractors on a personal level. This will possibly get you in the VIP list of good cheap service on a private leval. At least it is worth a try.
