Description of service
My son began complaining of his tooth hurting on a Friday afternoon (of course) so we kept him on Orajel and Tylenol until we could get a "we'll work you in" type appointment on Monday morning. Because of the extreme pain and the anxiety which it led to, I did request "gas" for my son's appointment, which considerably raised the price. We did not have dental insurance at this time.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with the staff's compassion. Although I'm sure they deal with people experiencing tooth pain on a daily basis, they made my son feel like he was their only patient and that he was their number one priority. Since we did not have dental insurance and my kids were not going for regular dental checkups at that time, I was very happy that I was spared any kind of lecture. I was, however, reminded that we might qualify for our state's children's insurance plan and advised to check it out.
Tips
If at all possible, of course, make sure that everyone in your family gets twice yearly checkups. Go ahead and find out now, before you are faced with an emergency situation, what your dentist's policy is on paying. Most require payment at time of service, but some will work with you. This is not, however, something to wait until the last minute to find out.
