Description of service
My son had what was described as a "smallish" cavity filled on one of his upper molars. It was not a molar way in the back, and it was not a permanent tooth that was filled.
Review of Service
The service was wonderful. I really like the dentist we go to. He is very thorough and congenial, and makes my 9-year-old son very at ease.
The assistants aand office people made it as good an experience as possible for my child.
Tips
I could have saved money by going with a silver filling instead of a white filling, but the molar was close enough to the front of my child's mouth that it was pretty visible when he smiles or speaks. The doctor recommended the white filling also because it sets more quickly and they apparently have better luck with them lasting.
To tell the truth, I still question whether or not I should have just gotten the silver filling, because he won't have the tooth but for about another year. This was his second filling, and the first one was a molar way in the back. We did get a silver filling on that one because it is hardly visible ever, and we have not had any problems with it.
I am not positive about the cost of the silver filling, but if memory serves, they said it would be about $100.00 for that one, so a pretty big difference.
It's just a personal choice you have be prepared to make as a parent, I guess.
