Description of service
Certified piano tuner came and tuned six-foot grand piano. He was prepared with all the tools, parts, and strings necessary to complete the job. Payment did not include gratuities, but only included the basic tuning service. Replacement of parts (like hammer pads, strings or screws) were an additional charge, but our piano did not require any extra services.
Review of Service
The service we received was professional. The tuner arrived at the appointed time, was prepared with the tools and basic parts he needed to perform the basic tuning procedure. Service quality was excellent and I would recommend this piano tuner to others. I feel like the service was a good value for the price, but I wish that he would have been able to take credit cards as payment.
Tips
The best tip I can offer in this area is to get several recommendations before deciding on a piano tuner, especially if you have a grand piano, an antique piano, or a piano with great value. Some tuners are not certified and have just learned on their own. They do not always have the correct techniques and sometimes do not know how to fix a simple problem. Price is not as important if you have a valuable instrument and want to keep it that way.
