Description of service
After a half-dollar sized rock left a good crack in my windshield, I had to get it replaced. A simple repair would have not sufficed, so I had to replace the entire windshield. I shopped around, and still the cheapest spot I found was going to charge me $500. This was full maintenance, removal, replace, and ensuring the rain sensor still worked.
Review of Service
The service was great, despite the wallet hit. Although a windshield for my friend's Ford Explorer only cost $200, $500 isn't much to ask for the complicated work involved with the rain sensor. The service was quick, I simply walked next door to a gas station, got a drink, and relaxed for an hour. After that hour, I had a brand new window to look through, and not a complaint in my lips. The service was effective, and I was given the details of the job beforehand. My only complaint was that my car had gotten completely filthy, and some of the gunk was hard to get off. But for the process and materials, $500 was worth it.
Tips
Shopping around for the best price is an absolute must. Some places might overcharge you, some might not. Calling is usually the best, as some places like to have different prices based on how knowledeable you are on the subject matter. Also, do research first for people who own your same car that have replaced your windshield, it will let you know more about the situation and process, which is comforting.
