Description of service
We had a service man out to our place to fix some components of our home audio. The cost of his visit was $125. He was there for a little over an hour and there were no parts required.
Review of Service
We had an unfortunate situation where we let our nephew try and hook up our surround sound. He ended up hooking everything up wrong and actually damaging our home audio system. We ended up having to hire a home audio repair guy to come out and fix it.
The experience was fine - nothing great. Basically what you'd expect from this type of service. The guy come in, figured out what was wrong and then fixed it. We had some extra wires and miscellaneous things that I'm pretty sure he used to fix it, so we just paid for labor.
The only issue I had is that when I told him what was wrong and what we'd already tested, he insisted on checking the same things again. I think that wasted some time, but we only paid for an hour even though it was a bit longer than an hour so overall it worked out ok.
Tips
You should expect that even if you have a pretty good idea of what the problem is (or isn't) they will probably not listen and check that again anyway.
