Description of service
I'm almost 6 feet tall, so I don't wear heels very often. So, I have two pairs of high heels - black and blue. I've had them for probably ten years and I wear them maybe two or three times a year. Because I wanted to make sure they were comfortable, I spent a fortune on them.
When I was at a dinner business meeting, my foot got stuck in a grate on the sidewalk, I just didn't see it, I was talking with a perspective client - how embarrassing !!
I broke the heel; it was a clean break and I was sure I could get it repaired.
Review of Service
I took it to a shoe repair place in downtown Tampa - a lot busier place than I expected. They charged $12.50 to put a new heel on it. They were happy that it was a "basic" shoe and could match the color, texture and style. They told me sometimes they can't match it enough to be able to do it. In that case, they have to redo the whole shoe and the other shoe, so that they match. The cost of that, it seems to me, would be more than just buying new shoes.
Tips
Reuse - we need to stop being a "throw-away" society. Too many times I've just thrown something away that could be fixed.
If you can fix it - do it !!
