Description of service
For this course, $45 of the fee was for registration, and $5 were for the materials to be used during class. There were 9 course sessions, each lasting two hours. During the class, the instructor imparted basic knowledge for oil painting, including how to properly mix different colors, when to use each brush, and different techniques to use to put the paint on the campus. At the end of the course, I had three small canvases of works that I had done.
Review of Service
The class was billed as one that did not require any artistic talent, just the desire to learn. While that is mostly true, a little bit of talent definitely does not hurt. While the instructor was very patient, it was obvious that a degree of favoritism was shown to those students who had a higher level of talent, and while the other students were not ignored, I feel I could have gotten more out of it if the teacher had concentrated more on technique with those of us who were not naturals. However, I did enjoy the course.
Tips
Do not be afraid to go to a class like this if you have no artistic talent, it is really all about having fun.
