Description of service
The base price of a 7 day rental picking up at the Anchorage Airport was $87. With taxes, facility fees, etc. it came to $146 for the week. I did not purchase extra insurance.
Review of Service
After shopping around for week long rentals in Alaska, I was very pleased with my rate of $146 for the week. The next cheapest rate with any other rental company was almost $20 higher for a comparable car and service. It was a great price, especially since we were doing a lot of driving so it was great to have the unlimited mileage feature and an economy car so we saved on gas. It was very easy to reserve using their website and I didn't have to create an account like some rental car companies make you do in order to book online. The rental counter and car lot is very easy to find located beneath the baggage claim terminal making it very convenient to get in and out of the airport.
Tips
My major tip for anyone renting a car is to talk with your personal car insurance provider before you rent a car. Many companies will pressure you at the counter to buy their additional insurance. But in my case, my personal car insurance covers me when I am driving any rental car in my name so I always decline the extra coverage since it can usually be fairly expensive, especially over 7 days.
